Goodbye Blog :-(

I posted this on http://www.jaycimarie.com/ but I also wanted to post it here as well and say goodbye to "The Quinn's Quest Through Everyday Life".

A little over three years ago I created a family blog (http://quinnfamilyspot.blogspot.com/) where I posted about the goings on of our family and then not long after Scott and I found out we were expecting a baby so I created another blog to record the events of the pregnancy and of Jayci's life. My intention was to keep the two separate but as time has gone on I have neglected both blogs and especially the family blog. After some thinking I have decided to discontinue the
http://quinnfamilyspot.blogspot.com site and only have one blog. In the beginning both blogs were fairly easy to be separate and have topics of conversation for each one. On one hand we had The Tales from the Crib blog that was so much about the pregnancy and the events/milestones in Jayci's first couple of years. On the other hand we had the Quinn family blog where we would document things like trips that we took without Jayci as she was so little, projects we were doing on house and in the yard and many other things. Now that Jayci is older and everything that we do as a family includes her I think it will be a lot easier to document our entire family (Jayci, Molly, Scott and myself) in one place....http://www.jaycimarie.com/

Happy Mother's Day.

Yesterday was such a wonderful day. This was my second Mother's Day as a ma-ma and to wake up yesterday to a little girl run up and say "ma-ma" and "I Love" (we are still working on "I Love You") and then give me a big hug and kiss is the best present in the world! For so long I never thought I would have a baby of my own and Molly and Brittany have always made me feel like a mom and for that I am so lucky. Having Jayci has changed my life in so many ways and to watch her grow and teach her things is such a rewarding experience. Every day it seems like she comes up with something new and her laugh is so infectious. She is such an easy little girl and has such an easy temperament and is so loving. Right now she loves giving hugs and kisses and it makes my heart skip a beat when I am cooking in the kitchen and she runs up behind me, wraps her arms around my leg and just gives me a big hug. She also has started this thing that when she laughs she will laugh so hard she puts both hands up to her mouth and will laugh and laugh and when I see this it makes me laugh so hard I cry...lol. Motherhood is definitely an adventure and it is the hardest job in the whole world but to have the opportunity to raise children that will hopefully turn out to be independent, respectful, loving and compassionate adults is the greatest role I will ever have.

I got to spend the day with my Mom and she has certainly showed me the meaning of a great Mom. I am so very fortunate for my family and I hope that all the Mothers out there had a great Mother's Day.

What We Have Been Up To Lately

Okay what is the point of having this blog if I don't update it once in a while.....that is what I have been asking myself! I have no excuses and no exciting reasons that I have been away from blogging as I just haven't been keeping up with it! Let's see it was March when I made my last post and really it wasn't a post as I was just trying to get some feedback on revamping my layout. I am not sure how many people really check out my blog anymore because why check something out when there is nothing new to read and after a while I am sure that you just don't check anymore. Well I am not going to quit blogging as this is a way for me to go back from time to time and look back at what we have been up to and I hope that I do have some followers that check in on us too.

Well now that I have that out of the way let me get on with what the Quinn's have been up to lately. Since my last real update (Christmas) we have welcomed Spring and are so enjoying the warmer weather. Jayci is all over the place now so we try to go to the park as much as we can and she loves being outside. As I have said in the past I am trying to keep this blog separate from the Jayci news so after I finish this post I am going to update the content and layout of her blog so check it out at http://www.jaycimarie.com/.

Easter weekend was one of our bigger events over the past few months and it was a busy and fun weekend. That weekend started a little early with my Mom and Cheryl coming to town on Thursday and we went to the Kids Clothes Connection consignment sale and racked up on Jayci's spring/summer clothes. On Friday I helped Scott in his garden (notice I say "his) and got the fence up and cleaned up a lot of stuff around the garden. It was a hard days work but it looks so good and we already have some vegetables coming up. On Saturday we went to the Easter egg hunt in Opelika with my sister and Molly and then on Sunday we had mine and Scott's family over to our house for Easter lunch and another egg hunt. It was a packed weekend!

This past weekend we headed to my parents house and went to the Renaissance festival with Molly. We have done this a few times but have decided to make it an annual event. Molly loves the medieval times and this is definitely her cup of tea but us older people really enjoy it as well. Each time we go we see new (and interesting) things and people, see some neat shows, and eat wonderful food. We walked our rear ends off so on Sunday we decided to just relax and do a little shopping.

Back to the garden, this is Scott's garden as he has put a lot of work into it! He spent a few days getting the spot where we put it cleaned up, tilled, a fence put up, planted and a system to water it without dragging the hose all over the garden and it looks awesome. I can't wait until we have fresh corn, green beans, tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers, squash and okra and if we are successful then we will be adding more things to the garden next year.

In the midst of all the fun we have had and the work on the garden we have had a couple of events that were thrown at us that weren't so pleasurable or rewarding but we are dealing (still) with them. The first one is our air conditioner decided to die on us and has to be replaced and the other one is our washing machine decided to take a vacation as well! We are having the air conditioner replaced in the next couple of weeks and thank goodness our a/c repairman was able to get our old unit limping along until then so we are staying cool. As for the washing machine, there have been parts ordered and another part that needed some work done on it and we are keeping our fingers crossed that it will be back up and running by this weekend.

I am sure I have left some things out but this post is running a long and I am going to wrap it up.

Love to all and until next time.....

Happy New Year!

I know I am WAY behind on updating this blog and we have had a lot going on and I will admit it...I have just been too lazy to update this thing!

The past few weeks have been filled with all things Christmas. We went and got our tree, saw Santa, got the house decorated, had Christmas parties and spent a lot of time with family. Now we have taken all of the Christmas stuff down and packed it away for next year and we are excitied about ringing in 2010.

The Quinn's hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and we also hope that you have a very Happy New Year!
