Merry Christmas!

Scott, Molly, Jayci and I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas! We spent the holiday at my parent's house from Monday through Friday and on Christmas day we went to my Uncle Billy's house and we thoroughly enjoyed sharing with our family Jayci's first Christmas. Jayci is getting so much bigger and on Monday I have to go back to work which I am not looking forward to. I only have to work Mon-Wed next week so that shouldn't be too bad as it will break me into not spending everyday with her. I have so enjoyed being with Jayci everyday and seeing all of the little things that she does. She is such a blessing and even though she is only a couple of months old I can't imagine our lives without her.

Latest Happenings

I haven't posted in a little while but there really hasn't been much happening as we have been getting the house cleaned and we put out a few of our Christmas decorations. I usually put up a lot more but with Jayci being so little and taking up so much time I just decorated the mantle and we put up our tree. Last Sunday we were planning on going and cutting down our tree as we have done every year but it rained all night Saturday and most of Sunday morning so we decided it wouldn't be a good idea and we knew if we didn't get a tree that weekend then we wouldn't have another chance while we had Molly so we went and bought an artificial tree. I have been wanting an artificial tree in addition to our live tree as I wanted to put all of our family ornaments on the real tree in our family room and then get some decorative ornaments and put up an artificial one in our living room. It was nice to have the artificial tree this time as all we had to do was take it out of the box, fix the branches, put the ornaments on and plug it in since it is a pre-lit tree. Another thing I like about it is that I don't have to worry about watering it and it won't be as big of a mess to take it down after Christmas. Next week I am going to try to finish my Christmas shopping as I didn't get a chance to buy Scott anything when I went shopping the day after Thanksgiving. For those of you who didn't know Cheryl had to work the day after Thanksgiving so Scott volunteered to go with me. He seemed to enjoy it a little and said that he would do it again if he had to but he hopped that Cheryl wouldn't have to work that day ever again...giggle.

I didn't get an opportunity to post for Thanksgiving so I thought I would do that now as well. Scott, Jayci and I really enjoyed spending our Thanksgiving with most of our family at my Aunt Karen and Uncle Lee's house. I have so much to be thankful for as I am so thankful for our family and that even though many of us live far away from each other and some don't get a chance to make it at times to some of our gatherings I know that we love each other and are always there for one another. This was Jayci's first Thanksgiving and it was also the first opportunity for everyone to meet her and I am so very thankful for having her come into our lives. We can not wait to see everyone at Billy's for Christmas!

Thanksgiving week.

This week we are at Mom and Dad's. We picked up Molly on Saturday morning and came straight to Mom's were on Saturday and Sunday we played Wii games and also spent time playing on the computers. Today we left Jayci with Mom while Scott, Molly and I went to look for me a new jacket. I left from my house on Saturday and didn't even think about bringing a big jacket for our day after Thanksgiving shopping and what was I thinking considering we will be standing outside in 30 degree weather at 5:00 in the morning! We did find me a new jacket and then we went to lunch and I also got my hair cut.

Tomorrow we plan on going and buying the food we need to make for Thanksgiving and we will probably hang around the house.

We can't wait to see everyone on Thursday

What the Quinn's have been up to.

Well our lives for the past three weeks of course have been all about the baby but we have managed to sneak in some other stuff as well. Since Jayci has been home Scott has gone to a football game, Cheryl has come down to visit and we went and did a little shopping, and Mandy has been able to get out of the house a couple of times while someone else watched the baby. Molly came down this past weekend and her and Scott went to the Auburn homecomming game and thank goodness we won this time as our season hasn't been going all that well. This week Jayci and I are at Mom's house and we are going to go out a little and then next week is Jayci's first pediatrician's appointment and I will post about that on her blog. I also changed the background on both blogs as it was time for something new. I will post again soon....hopefully!

Happy Birthday Scott!!

With everything going on in the last few weeks it has been very hectic and we thought that the baby would be here by now but I certainty didn't want this day to go by without wishing my loving husband a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Scott I love you so very much and you are the best husband and father a family could have and I don't feel as though we tell you enough how much we appreciate all of the things you do for us.

Love you with all of our hearts,
Mandy, Brittany, Molly and Jayci

What we have been up to.

Well there really hasn't been a whole lot going on except waiting for little miss to make her arrival. The ticker I have on both blogs says that she should be here by now but as you all know that is not the case. Please check out Jayci's blog for the latest details. I have already started my maternity leave (I have been out two weeks now) and I will go back to work on the 29th of December. Other then just trying to take it easy there really isn't much to post. Love you guys!

What have we been up to lately??

There really hasn't been a whole lot going on since my last post but I thought I would make a quick post. We have just been trying to spend as much time at home as we can as Scott has been making sure that I don't do a whole lot except keep my feet up ever since the doctor put me on bed rest a couple of weeks ago. It has been kind of nice not having to do anything but lay around but I feel bad that Scott has been taking on so much and I can't help him. Scott has been absolutely amazing in taking care of the house and me during this time and I am so lucky to have a husband like him. This weekend is the big Auburn vs LSU game and Scott was able to get two tickets in addition to our three so it will be Scott, Dad, Jim, Jason C and Jason W and Scott is so excited because this will be the first game where he is carrying his smoker (many of you saw it at the 4th of July) and he is cooking ribs and boston butts. He went Wednesday and roped off where they will be tailgating and the plan right now is for them to get there around 9:00am and with kickoff not until 6:45pm they plan on making it an all day event. We found out that ESPN is airing their game day show from Auburn so I am sure the guys will head down there to check it all out. I am still a little bummed that I can't go but there is no way at this point that I would even try. Mom and I are going to spend the day getting some things done at the house and we will probably go to lunch as well. Scott and Dad just have one request and that is please don't go into labor this Saturday...giggle. Love to all!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

Today is mine and Scott's 7th anniversary!!!

Scott,

I love you so very much and am very lucky to have you for a husband and best friend! The past seven years have been absolutely wonderful and I can't wait to see what the future has in store for us.

Mandy

Quick Update.

I haven't posted anything as there really hasn't been a lot going on in the last couple of weeks. This past week I was put on bed rest for a few days and the swelling in my hands and feet have gone down a lot so I am back at work today and go to the Dr Thursday and hopefully we won't have to worry about the bed rest thing again. Scott has also told me that from now until Jayci is born that as soon as I come home from work that I am to lay down and not do anything!

Scott and his friend Jason went to the Auburn game on Saturday and said the game was alright (we did win) and that it poured down rain on them so they got soaking wet but had a good time anyway.

Like I said there hasn't been much going on so that is about it! Until next time.

Birthday and babysitting.

We had a few things go on this past week and one of those things was my birthday. I had already decided a day or two before my birthday that I was going to take the day off but Scott surprised me Friday morning when I got him up to go to work that he said he was staying home with me!!! Scott got out early Friday morning to cut the grass since we knew we would probably have rain all weekend and I worked in the house a little. Once we were done with this Scott took me out to lunch and then we went to the mall for a little while. We then went back home and I took a little nap and Scott worked on the satellite dish. While I was asleep Scott went to his Mom's for a little while and then when he came back up to the house I was awake and he said that we were keeping Makayla again. Brittany is in the process of moving and this past weekend they started moving in a lot of the furniture so maybe they will be in the house by this coming weekend. Scott took me to my favorite restaurant (Provino's) for dinner Friday night and then we went to pick up the baby. Makayla did very well Friday night and she has already gained a pound and barely fits in the preemie clothes she has been wearing. She is also showing us that she is more aware of what is going on around her and she is trying to hold her head up a little on her own. Saturday it rained all day long so the three of us just stayed in our pajamas and enjoyed hanging out. Saturday night Mom and Dad came down and on Sunday we still didn't have very good weather so we just stayed at the house again and watched TV and did a lot of talking. Brittany came Sunday night to pick up Makayla and once again we thoroughly enjoyed having her and can't wait until the next time!

Babysitting the grandchild.

This past Thursday Brittany had to be admitted to the hospital as she was having trouble keeping anything down and she kept getting dizzy to the point of her passing out one time. They kept her most of the day on Thursday and then sent her home Friday afternoon. They never could find what was the cause of this but they think it was a virus. As a precaution they thought it would be better if Brittany wasn't around the baby all that much in case it was contagious. We picked up Makayla Friday night and then had a very nice time having her all weekend. Friday night when we got her to our house we got out Jayci's pack-n-play and she slept in our room and Scott and I took turns getting up when she needed to be changed or fed. We got up Saturday morning and went to Columbus to go shopping and we got out Jayci's car seat and stroller and took her out and about. Makayla slept most of the time we were gone and did a wonderful job as this was the longest she had been out like that since she was born. Saturday night Mom said that she didn't mind if Makayla slept in the room with her and so she did the changing and feeding that night. Sunday Scott and Molly kept her while me and Mom went to pick up a few things and then we just all hung out at the house most of the day until we had to take Molly and Mom home. We took Makayla with us so Dad and Jenny could see her and again she did very well on the ride but she did get a little fussy when we got about 30 min away from the house but it was time for her bottle so we just pulled over and fed her and then she was fine. We took her back to her mommy Sunday night and we can't wait to be able to do this again. This was a great opportunity for me to get a practice run at having a newborn in the house and then packing up the car with a baby and I love every minute of it! Below are a couple of pictures we took of her over the weekend.

Nanny and the past year.

It is hard to believe that it has been one year since Nanny passed away and to think of all that has transpired in the last 12 months where she wasn't physically here with us have been quite emotional but I can always feel that she is watching over us. In this past year we have all had our moments of happiness, sadness and reflection and all of our families have gone through a lot of changes and have had many events take place. For Scott and I our biggest has been getting pregnant and I have to say that I have missed her so very much through this whole experience. Scott and I got into a conversation about Nanny last night because I have had some moments here in the last couple of weeks where I have been a little emotional about things and I was telling him that it doesn't seem like it was a year ago that we lost her and that I was missing her a lot here lately. He then told me again about the story of where just a few weeks after she passed away how he felt as though someone was helping guide him through his decision of us trying to have a baby again and he knows it was Nanny and how he knows she has been with us through each and every step of this process. I can't wait until Jayci is old enough for me to tell her stories about her great-grandmother and how she got her name. Our family is so fortunate to have the foundation that Nanny, grand-dad, Mamma Sewell, Daddy Sewell and all others before us have helped build and I know that will continue with all of the other generations in the family.

Nanny will be forever in our hearts and I know that one day we will see her again but until then I take tremendous comfort in knowing that she is watching out for all of us.

WOW what a weekend!

There was so much going on this weekend so let me start with Friday afternoon. Scott and I left Friday after work to pick up Molly and then head to Mom's for the baby shower and ultrasound. When I picked up Scott he said that he had talked to Brittany and that she was already showing signs that she might start going into labor in the next few days! I had a feeling that something would happen and that we wouldn't be there when she had the baby but from what her doctor said it could be another 7-10 days before we had anything to worry about so we went on to Mom's. Saturday morning we got up to start getting everything ready for the shower and we got a call about 10am that she had started going into labor but that her contractions were still fairly far apart and not regular so it still looked like it would be a while and we knew there wasn't any way for us to be there so we just asked that they call as much as they could. In the meantime the guests started arriving and I can't begin to tell you how much it meant to me and Scott to see everyone there that made it and there were several people that I hadn't seen in many years and we did end up with quite a crowd. I don't really have any pictures to post as we didn't get any pictures with our camera but there were several people there that did so we should have some soon. The shower was so much fun and Jayci received many things that she will get a lot of use out of and I can't wait to see her in all the cute clothes, blankets, swing, shoes, etc. I will be taking a lot of pictures of her using all of these and will think about all the love that came from those that gave them to her. Scott and I want to thank everyone for being there and sharing this special time with us and Jayci will soon find out what a lucky girl she is for being born into such a wonderful family and having a lot of friends in her extended family as well.

I need to extend a couple of extra thank yous to a couple of people. First off Mom and Cheryl for planning the whole shower and in getting everything ready! Mom the house looked great and I know how hard you worked on all of it and I will never be able to thank you enough! Cheryl did a lot of hard work in getting the invitations out and they looked fabulous and I know you had a big hand in also getting a lot of other stuff ready for the shower....THANK YOU! Amanda (or the other Mandy) I really want to thank you for the cupcakes (they were so adorable) and bringing dip and handling the punch and the other things that you did. I can't ever thank you enough for all that you did and it if you ever need anything please let me know. Melanie is such a cutie and I am so glad that she got to come.

Well that was Saturday and before we went to bed that night we talked to Scott's family and they said that Brittany's contractions were a lot closer and that the baby would be born before the sun came up. We went to bed and Molly had the phone so she would get the call when the baby was born. We got up Sunday morning and when we woke Molly up she was so excited as she told us that she got a call about 3:15am that Makayla was born at about 2:15 and weighed 5 lbs 15 ozs and that both her and Brittany were doing fine!!! We went ahead to our ultrasound Sunday morning (see Jayci's page for details) and after the ultrasound all of us went out to lunch and then we headed back to Mom's to pack the car and get back to Alabama to see Brit in the hospital. We got to the hospital at about 2:00 and were able to spend about 3 hours with Makayla and she is so adorable. Brittany was understandably very tired and sore but she is doing great and hopefully they will send the two of them home sometime today. I will post again when she is home.

Busy Weekend!

This was the first weekend in a while that we didn't have to go anywhere and it was just us at home so we took full advantage of it and got a lot of work done! On Saturday Scott finished our storage building and we got most of Jayci's room cleaned out but unfortunately it all ended up in the family room instead of the storage building as it started to rain when we got ready to take stuff outside. We still have a bit of stuff to clear out of her room but it is getting there. Scott also went to a friend of his to pick figs and made some homemade strawberry-fig perserves...I don't care for them but just about everyone else that tries them loves them! On Sunday we got back in the nursery and went through a filing cabinet that had a lot of old paperwork in it and it was amazing what we found. We ended up spending a lot of time going through this as what we found was some of Molly's old school work, Scott's old school work, cards from various people (including Nanny) and letters Scott's nephew sent while he was in training camp for the army. It was funny and sad to go through alot of this stuff as it brought back a lot of memories. By going through all of this stuff it made the room look worse then when we started but we will be back in there this week to finish. Sunday afternoon Scott took me out to lunch and a movie! We went to see the new Batman movie and it was AWESOME and for anyone that hasn't seen it yet you need to go. Well this week we are extremely busy and we can't wait to see many of you this weekend!!

Love to everyone.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOLLY!!

Glitter Graphics
Glitter Graphics at GlitterGeek.com

This past Tuesday (July 15th) was Molly's 15th birthday! I can't believe she is now 15 and guess what....she got her learners license! Molly was telling us that her Mom took her to the parking lot at her high school to let her get behind the wheel for the first time and it sounds like she did a good job. She did say that she made her Mom (as well as herself) a little nervous but like her Mom said it was her first time and she didn't expect her to jump behind the wheel and drive like a pro. I am still waiting for that moment when we are out somewhere and she asks me if she can drive....I don't know if I am ready for that...giggle. Anyway Scott and I are both so proud of her. On Saturday we had a little party at Mom's house with cake, ice cream and presents and had a lot of fun. She got a couple of new games for the Wii so Molly, Scott and Cheryl played while I watched. Then on Sunday we went to Dave and Busters and met Molly's boyfriend for a day of great fun! We got there when they first opened so played games for an hour or so before we went to eat lunch and then we went and played some more. When we went to turn all of our tickets in we ended up with about 7600!! Usually we split up the tickets between Molly, me and Cheryl but none of us could decide on what to use them on so we decided to put all of the tickets together and we got a game for the Wii which was Zelda. We had a wonderful time getting to know Hunter a little better and hope we can do it again soon.

A Wonderful 4th of July!

For the 4th of July we had a lot of family, food and fun! Several members of the Lummus family were able to attend and for those that couldn't we really missed you guys! Danny, Belinda, David, Lisa, Seth, Ricky, Connie, Billy, Lillian, Mom, Dad & Cheryl all made the trip from Georgia to Alabama and only one got lost getting to my house...I didn't think that was too bad...lol. There were also many members of Scott's family that were able to make it (his Mom, Brittany, Diane, Kreig, Leroy, Janette, Misty, Misty's husband and 5 week old daughter & Tommy) so we had a full house! Scott got busy on Thursday smoking the boston butts for his barbecue and also getting things around the house ready so he was very busy. On Friday Scott got up early to put the ribs on and he loved using his new smoker. Once everyone arrived it was time to eat and there was a lot of good food and very few leftovers so needless to say I don't think anyone went home hungry. After lunch a lot of people got in the pool to cool off or went to play horseshoes and it was wonderful seeing everyone have a good time. Scott and I can't tell you how much it meant to have many from both sides of our family at our house to share in this celebration of the 4th and hope that we can do it again soon.

Early Saturday morning Scott, Dad and Ricky met Jim at the golf course and played a round while the ladies stayed at the house and just relaxed by playing the Wii and also swimming a little.

Sunday was kind of a day to unwind so we didn't do much but it was a good end to a great weekend. This weekend Scott has to finish our storage building and then we can begin to fill it up with stuff!

I have uploaded some of the pics from the 4th below and also the link below will take you to all of the pictures that Molly took since she was our photographer..giggle.

Weekend fun!!

We were extremely busy this past weekend! On Saturday morning I had to get up really early to pick Molly up. This wasn't our weekend to have her but Brittany's baby shower was Saturday and Molly really wanted to be there. While I was gone to get Molly in Newnan Scott, Jim and Jason got started at about 7:30 on our new storage building. The room we will be using for Jayci's nursery has been basically an office, dog, storage & junk room for the past 7 years so we needed some space to put all of this stuff in and we needed a place to store things outside so thus the project began! It was really hot and the guys were hoping that the rain would hold off (which it did) and they got all four walls up, a roof, windows and the door. We still have to put the siding on and the tin on the roof but it is ready to start putting stuff in. We hoped to have this completed by the 4th of July and we almost did it but it looks great and they guys worked really hard on it....Thanks to Jim, Jason and Tommy!!! While the guys worked me and Molly went to Brittany's baby shower and it was a lot of fun. There was a good turnout of people, a lot of food and Brittany received many things. On Sunday it rained most of the day but we did get a little bit of yard work done and then Scott surprised me and Molly with lunch and a movie! We went to Logans Roadhouse for lunch and then went to see Wall-E which was a very good movie. This week we are busy getting ready for the 4th and can't wait to see everyone! Love you all!

We are back!

We made it back about 9:00 Saturday night and we are all exhausted but we had a wonderful time! I will post again very soon with the details and pics as right now all we want to do is get some sleep...giggle.

We are in Norfolk!!!

Well after leaving at 3:00 est this morning we arrived in Norfolk, VA at about 4:00. The ride wasn't too bad but Scott did all the driving so we had it pretty easy as we got to sleep a little. We will be heading out to Virgina Beach in a few minutes to see a few things and then we will come back to the hotel so we can all get a little sleep. Tomorrow we will meet the shuttle at 10:20 and head for the port!! We hope to be on board around 12:00. Love Mandy, Scott, Cheryl & Molly.

Busy getting ready for our vacation.

Well this past weekend we kind of started getting ready for our upcomming cruise. We have all mentioned that this is the first time we have waited this long to get ready as with all the previous ones we are buying stuff, packing and getting overly excited about 3-4 weeks in advance. We are still overly excited but the buying and packing has not really happened. Molly surprised us by calling us the other night and said she is already packed....she is already bored and she has only been out of school for one week!! Scott and I did go to Montgomery this past Saturday and I bought a bunch of new clothes which was really fun because on all of our previous trips Scott, Molly and Cheryl usually get a whole new wordrobe where I usually take what I already have but this time the three of them are taking stuff they already have and I got all new clothes!!! This week I will be getting a few more little things and will probably start packing over the next couple of days. We always say that we are so ready for a vacation but I think this year it is especially true. Cheryl has had so much going on with her job that she has been stressed out. Scott and I have been very busy trying to get the house ready for Jayci and we still have a long way to go and I have been extremely tired the last week or so as we have had a lot going on at work and Scott has also been very busy at work as well. I know we all plan on taking advantage of this 9 day cruise to relax and unwind!!

Surprise date night!

Scott surprised me when he got home from work last night with tickets to the new Indiana Jones movie! I had mentioned that I wanted to see it but really didn't think he would want to go opening night but I was wrong (don't tell Scott I mentioned I was wrong about something) and I couldn't wait to go. I got home a little earlier than Scott and wasn't feeling well so I had already put on my PJ's for a night at home but as soon as I found out we were going to the movies I quickly got ready and we headed out for the movie. We got our usual popcorn and chocolate and waited in the lobby for about 20 min with the rest of the crowd and then we got in and found our seats. We did find us 2-3 more movies that will be coming out over the next 3 months that we would like to go see and then it was time for the feature presentation. I really didn't know what to expect as I loved the older Indy movies and usually the sequels never measure up but we went in with an open mind and it was both very funny and action packed and will definitely buy it when it comes out. After we left the theatre we ended up going out and getting strawberry shortcake so needless to say we were both stuffed when we got home but it was so worth it as we had a wonderful time. Scott and I have said that it seems like we haven't even been home lately or even gotten a chance to have some time for the two of us so this was a much needed night for the two of us. We will be back up at Mom and Dad's this weekend because now that Scott and his brother have finished Scott's smoker (should arrive at my house today) they have had orders for two more!!! I have to admit they did an exceptional job on Scott's and who knows they might have found a little business on the side for the two of them and I have pics of it below. The only thing is these are very time consuming to make so I guess I will just have to move into Mom and Dad's...giggle. Maybe once the baby gets here we will spend some time at home and we can slow down a little but who am I kidding we may be able to stay home but with a new baby I guess the slowing down can be thrown out the window. We will get the 3D/4D ultrasound done Sunday and I will post about that on Jayci's site.

Molly's Last Band Concert

This past Friday night was Molly's last band concert not only for the school year but it looks like her last band concert ever. Molly has decided that she has played the flute for several years and has enjoyed it but now that she is in high school there are several other classes that she would like to take and can't do so if she remains in band. Scott and I left several hours early on Friday so in case we ran into traffic we would still hopefully be able to make it as we had a problem the last time we tried to come to one of her events as we made it there as soon as she was done playing! This time we got there a couple of hours early so we went to Target and I got a couple of new pairs of pants and a few shirts as it is getting more and more to where I am outgrowing my clothes. After shopping we went to dinner and then it was time to meet Molly at her school. Scott and I were unaware that this was an outdoor concert in the school parking lot so we both felt a little overdressed when we saw people in shorts and flip-flops but we saw others that had on what we did which was basically pants, button down shirts and skirts but none the less shorts would have been better as it was a little warm. There were several groups that played (all of them were good) and Molly's group was second to last so while we waited we (Me, Scott, Molly's mom, step-dad, sister, grandmother, aunt, uncle and her step-dad's mom) all sat and talked and had a great time. We also got to meet Molly's boyfriend Hunter for the first time and he is a very sweet young man and we look forward to getting to know him better. The concert was very good and then it was time for the long drive home!

Time flys when you are having fun....

Well it has been almost three weeks since my last post and several things have been going on so here is a quick recap! Mom and dad came down for a few days and we really enjoyed it as they came on Wednesday and didn't go home until Sunday so this gave us a lot of time together. We took them to Niffers and the Brick Oven to eat and they really liked each of these and I have to say they are two of my favorite places in Auburn to eat....Cheryl was jealous! The next weekend we spent at Mom and Dad's where Scott could continue working on the bbq smoker (it is almost done) and Cheryl and I went out Sunday and each of us bought at Wii! The Wii has been the most fun and everyone that has played it seems to really like it and it is funny watching people (like me) participate in sports they would have never played without this. This past weekend we finally got Molly for a weekend (her mom took her to the Mall of America the last time we were supposed to have her) and we went to the Auburn City Fest on Saturday morning, went out to lunch, went shopping for a game for the Wii and then went home to play. Scott and Molly stayed up until after 11:00 playing and I was fast asleep so it was nice for the two of them to have some daddy-daughter time. On Sunday Brittany came over and spent most of the day with us (again playing the Wii) and she really liked the fishing and boxing. After all of this it was time to take Molly home and we had borrowed Dad's truck on Friday so we met with them Sunday night to exchange vehicles and ended up eating dinner together which Scott and I really enjoyed. I guess that wraps up what we have been doing. This week we have a dr's appointment so keep an eye on the baby blog for a new picture and for those of you that have participated in the game of guessing the gender, birth date and weight thanks as it has been interesting seeing what each of you think and if you haven't had a chance to play go to the baby blog and enter your guesses. This weekend we are back to Mom's for what should be the last weekend working on the smoker before it comes to our house and hopefully I will have pictures soon. Love you all and until next time!

Pool Makeover

Well this past week we got the new liner in the pool and the salt system has been installed as well. I have also posted a couple of pics and the one of the before is kind of gross because we decided not to worry about keeping the pool clean during this past winter as we knew we were going to replace the liner in the spring so the water is definitely more like swamp water...giggle. The man that came in the replace the liner cleaned the steps (in the pic with the new liner the steps hadn't been cleaned yet) to where they look like new and replaced all the fittings as well and I will try to take a picture of the pool now that it is full with water as it looks really good!! When I first got home when the new liner was put in but before it was full of water I wasn't really sure about it but it turned out great. Now all we have to do is wait for the water to warm up and then we can dive in!!

We have been so busy here lately that I haven't had a chance to post so I will try to catch up on what has been going on. We have been trying to find a home for our dog Chase for the last month and Easter weekend we received a call from a woman who was interested in him but wanted us to send her some pictures and then she would call us over the Easter weekend if she wanted him. We never heard from her so I assumed she didn't want him but when we got home Sunday night she called and said that she indeed wanted him and wanted to know if we could bring him to her that night! We gathered up all of his stuff and then I got the chance to play with him for a few minutes and then he was gone and I have been having a little bit of a hard time with it but I know it is for the best. I was not prepared for that and could not go with Scott to drop him off. We have always said that we didn't get to spend enough time with him and felt bad for that and this is an older couple who's kids no longer live at home and Scott said that the lady was real nice and said not to worry about Chase that she would be real patient and loving with him. This past weekend we were at Mom and Dad's again and Saturday it was a girls day out with me, Mom, Cheryl and Molly and we had a great time and then that night we had a little birthday party for Dad and had a lot of fun playing a board game that we got for Dad and it was "Are You Smarter Then a Fifth Grader" and we certainly got a lot of laughs out of it and NONE of us are "Smarter Then a Fifth Grader"! This weekend we are going to be busy at our house as we have someone coming over to replace the liner in our swimming pool and also switch us over to a salt system instead of chlorine and we also plan on doing a lot of work around the house as the weeds are sprouting up everywhere and we need to clean up some stuff outside as well. Well I hope everyone is doing well and until next time!

Since I don't know if I will be able to post this weekend I wanted to go ahead and wish everyone a Happy Easter!

A quick catch up on what has been going on.....
Scott and I celebrated Easter a little early with Molly this past weekend since we wouldn't have her Easter weekend so we gave her her Easter basket and spent family time watching movies and just hanging out. We also did a lot of work outside since the weather was beautiful and got the grass cut and I planted some bulbs so I am keeping my fingers crossed that they come up. Scott and I have always given each other something for Easter ever since we started dating and this year was no different as we both got each other some candy (we are both big kids you know) and then I got Scott a movie and some jeans as he needed these for work and Scott surprised me by getting me a new digital camera! We have been looking for a while since our last one broke and we really liked the one that we had but I didn't want to spend that much on another one but Scott just happened to find the exact same camera we had on clearance and bought it! Now I can start taking some pictures and posting them.

Date night.

Scott and I try to go out on a date night as often as we can however here lateley it hasn't been that often so we decided last night would be our night out! For Valentine's Day Scott gave me two movie tickets so we decided it would be dinner and a movie. We started out at Kirin's which is one of our favorite Chinese places and since we still had a little time to kill after dinner and before the movie we went to the mall to walk around. Earlier in the day I had went online to see what movies were out and what times they started and I narrowed it down to two, Jumper and Vantage Point so while we were at the mall we talked about it and decided to see Jumper as Scott has been talking about that movie for a while. After our tour of the mall we headed to the theatre where we got out popcorn and drinks and went into the theater and there was no one else in there...was this a good sign..lol. Well it was a Wednesday night and there wasn't a whole lot of people there anyway so I didn't let this bother me. We watched the previews and saw many upcomming movies we would like to try to see and then it was time for our movie to start. I have to say that I wasn't sure about this movie to start with and it did get off to a slow start but it got better as it went along and I have to say it didn't end up to be too bad of a movie. Scott said he wouldn't mind seeing it again and I think I could skip it but to see it once was fine. Really though it didn't matter what movie we went to see it was just nice for the two of us to spend time together and talk and get away from everything else for a couple of hours. We know that in the near future that our date nights really will be rare but we said last night that we will always make an effort to go on a date whenever we can. I know that I married a wonderful man and I plan to date him for the rest of my life!

Girls day out.

On Saturday Cheryl, Molly and I went to the Georgia aquarium while Scott continues working on his bbq smoker. We had a great time as we got there around 9:00 and left about 1:00 and between Molly and Cheryl many pictures were taken but I don't have any of them yet. I still haven't bought a new camera yet and I need to get on the ball about getting one but until then I am waiting on Cheryl to upload our pictures before I can post anything. Anyway, after doing a lot of walking and picture taking and even having a little bit of a snack at the aquarium we decided not to eat lunch there and ended up at TGI Fridays and it was nice for the three of us to sit and eat lunch and just cut up. After lunch we went to Babies R Us and everyone gave their oppoinions on cribs, bedding and other things and we picked up a cute picture frame to keep our ultrasound pictures in and a book that I can keep up with what is going on in the next few months. Once we finished there we went to Best Buy where we had said that if all three of us agreed on a CD then we would buy it and I was shocked but the second CD that I looked at (Lifehouse) was one that Molly and Cheryl said they liked as well and we were out of there in less then 10 minutes!! We then decided we had a long enough day adn it was time to go home and relax for a little while. We definitely need to have a girls trip again soon!

A quick post!

Well this is a quick post since I haven't posted in almost a month!! Scott and I have been extremely busy both with work and with things around the house as we have spent almost every weekend here lately up at mom and dad's house because Scott and his brother are building a HUGE bbq smoker. As soon as I have pictures I will post them as from what I hear you can put enough meat on this thing to feed an army...lol. Last weekend we had a early Valentine's date for Molly as we won't have her this comming up weekend and we let her choose where she wanted to go for dinner and what she wanted to see at the movies. All I have to say we will let her choose a place to eat again but I don't know if we will ever let her choose the movie again...giggle. We started off at Olive Garden and it was really good but we ate way too much, and then we went to Meet the Spartans at the movie theater. All I can say is I have never been so glad to see a movie end but Molly enjoyed it and that is what it was all about. I know there has been other stuff going on in the last few weeks but right now I can't think of any thing else so I will post back later and hopefully it won't be as long next time!

What's been going on.

Well it has been a long time since my last post and a lot has been going on and I will probably post more details later but for now a quick recap...

We had Christmas at Billy's house and it was so nice to have the whole family there but it was hard because our Nanny wasn't there but our family is close and we will help each other during the hard times. This year we picked up Molly on Christmas day and kept her for the week after and Scott and I had the week off so we went to the movies, had lazy days at the house and just enjoyed having this time together. On New Years Eve we had the big bowl game and it was awesome!! I have never been to a big game like this and we got to downtown Atlanta around 10:00 am and spent the whole day going around town and then it was time to head to the dome for the game. The game was close but Auburn did beat Clemson and our seats were in the nosebleed section but we could see everything really well and thoroughly enjoyed it. After the game it was the adventure of thousands of people trying to leave at the same time and get to MARTA and can I just say that was an experience I could do without. When we finally got on the train there was a group of people that got into a fight and for a minute it looked like it would get really bad but thank goodness it did not but it did scare everyone. New Year's day we had a few friends over and had a crab boil (crab legs, shrimp, lobster tails, corn and potatoes) and watched some of the games. The weekend after New Year's my Mom came down and helped me redecorate my bedroom. We painted the room, replaced the curtains, put a new comforter on the bed, moved some of the furniture and got a couple of things to hang on the walls. I was very happy with the way it turned out and it is something that I have been wanting to do for 7 years!!! I did take some pics of the before and after and I will post them as soon as I can. Well that is about it for now.
